Color and Weave

Class meets in Studio 11 of the Tapp’s Art Center. 6-9p on Friday, 9-5 on Saturday.

Class fee is 125.00.  A non-refundable deposit of 30.00 will reserve your place.

Explore the impact of interlacing alternating bands of light and dark color.  Create towel sized samplers that include log cabin and hound’s tooth effects; gain experience using two shuttles; observe how concentration and diffusion of color changes the look of your woven piece; and work with cottolin, a fiber that combines the best qualities of cotton and linen.

Warps will be prepared for you in advance so that you can focus on dressing the loom and weaving samplers that can be finished and used as towels.  Class will meet on Friday from 6-9 and Saturday from 9-5. The studio will also be open on Thursday the 15th from 6-9 and Sunday the 25th from 1-5 for participants who need more time or flexibility.  This class is designed to build your skills and is appropriate for beginning or intermediate weavers, although you should have some experience with warping a loom.

Total cost of the class is 125.00.  A non-refundable deposit of 30.00 will reserve your place.  The balance is due the first day of class and can be paid with cash, check or charge.  Class fee includes all supplies, instruction, and use of a floor loom.
